American Institute for the Study of War (ISW) noted in its report on December 27, 2022, that Ukrainian troops achieved great success in the direction of Svatove-Kreminna (Luhansk region, east of Ukraine). They make successful attacks on this part of the front. Source: American Institute for the Study of War (ISW) “Ukrainian forces have likely made larger gains in northeast Ukraine than ISW has previously assessed. Kharkiv Oblast Administration Head Oleh Synehubov stated on December 27 that Russian forces occupy 1.6 percent of Kharkiv Oblast. ISW’s control of terrain assessment as of December 26 had Russian forces occupying about 1.747 percent of Kharkiv Oblast (a difference of about 46 square kilometers),” noted the analytics of the ISW. The ISW assumes that the Armed Forces of Ukraine liberated Dvorichna, Novomlynsk and Tavilzhanka settlements, which are located in the northeast of the Kharkiv region. The liberation of Kolomyichyha in the Luhansk region is also likely. This is evidenced by the fact that both Ukrainian and Russian sources report that the Russian Federation shelled these settlements on December 27, 2022. “Ukrainian Eastern Group of Forces Spokesperson Colonel Serhiy Cherevaty reported on December 27 that Russian forces in the Bakhmut area are no longer operating as company and battalion tactical groups and are instead operating in smaller groups of ten to fifteen servicemembers (squad-size organizations),” added the ISW.
