Head of the Russian presidential administration Sergei Ivanov said that Ukraine owes Russia not only $3 billion in loan taken during Yanukovych regime, but Ukraine also received $25 billion in loans from Russian banks.
The Russian official made the statement in Oswiecim, Poland, on Tuesday, Ukrinform correspondent in Poland reported.
“The problem is much more complex than $3 billion,” Ivanov said responding to a question about financial debts owed by Kyiv to Moscow.
He estimated that Ukraine owes “$25 billion to Russian banks.” According to him, Kyiv received “all sorts of discounts” from Moscow for the past 25 years.
Ivanov said that $3 billion loan for Kyiv “would be very needed” for the Russian government in the current difficult situation for Russia.
